Senior Sales Manager

Location: Waterloo, Ontario

The Opportunity

Smarter Alloys (SA) is searching for a talented, motivated and technically inclined self-starter to lead its Sales efforts to help bring its leading edge technology to clients around the globe. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, conducting market, competitive landscape analyses; developing strategic opportunity assessments; support new business pursuits; build out sales team; and managing and developing new business pipeline reports. In addition, the Sales Manager will support the development of client-specific solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and support the organization in reaching its defined annual revenue goals
  • Develop and sell real value-based solutions that support clients’ business growth
  • Establish Trusted Advisor relationships with customers to acquire Joint Development Agreements and production orders
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through speaking with clients and/or prospects
  • Utilize a variety of tools to conduct research (e.g. competitive and industry analyses), and then summarize and synthesize findings
  • Develop, manage and report on SA’s pipeline of new business opportunities and pursuits
  • Develop proposals, presentations, and supporting materials for presentation to customers
  • Develop and then apply relevant case studies and consumer insight research/trends and competitive/industry research/insight to develop relevant and actionable solutions
  • Manage multiple new business pursuits simultaneously
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with others

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3 – 5 years technical sales experience, preferably working with new ventures
  • Proven ability to identify client needs and issues and convert outcomes into actionable requirements (for feature enhancement)
  • Proven ability to operate under tight deadlines while maintaining multiple projects
  • Successful implementation of project based work
  • Well developed negotiation, problem solving, and people management skills
